59 Egyptian and Arab NGOs are in the final review stage to obtain a certificate of institutional commitment..
Within the framework of launching the second version of the Institutional Commitment Certificate for Egyptian and Arab NGOs, the review team of the NGO Accreditation and Quality Assurance Unit of the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Work conducted a Field reviews of (51) Egyptian NGOs representing 16 governorates, in addition to remote review sessions with 8Arab organizations from Yemen, Jordan, and Lebanon.
The second and final review of these organizations represents a basic and decisive step in the process of granting the Corporate Compliance Certificate, during which the extent to which the organizations meet the approved standards is evaluated and the decision to grant the certificate is made based on the results of the review. This stage comes after giving organizations sufficient opportunity to implement the development observations and recommendations presented during the first review, thus enhancing their readiness to fully comply with the standards.
It is worth noting that the Certificate of Institutional Commitment comes within the efforts of the Arab Center for the Sustainability of Civil Action to integrate quality and governance systems within Arab NGOs, with the aim of achieving institutional sustainability, and raising the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of its programs and projects. The certificate also seeks to raise the level of accountability and transparency and consolidate the principles of good governance in the private sector.
As part of the Center's keenness to encourage Arab NGOs to improve their performance, the Center will bear the cost of the certification procedures, which amounts to $500 for each organization that successfully passes the accreditation stage, according to what is stated in the guide.
